Call new leads from Zapier with an AI phone agent within seconds

Connect Zapier to Avoonta and an AI agent calls each new lead within seconds of the lead arriving. You pick the trigger and map the lead's phone number, and the agent asks your questions and helps the lead take the next step.

Two ways to connect Zapier

You can send leads from Zapier with a trigger link or with the Avoonta Zapier app. The trigger link is the simplest option. The app uses an API key and gives you more control per lead.

  • Trigger link: add the action Webhooks by Zapier, event POST, and paste your agent's trigger link as the URL.
  • Zapier app: in private beta. Connect with an API key from API & MCP > API keys.
  • The app's "Call a Lead" action lets you pick the agent, map the phone, and add Notes for the Agent (up to 2,000 characters).
  • You can also set Max Attempts, Minutes Between Attempts and Text the Lead When Nobody Answers. Empty cadence fields use the agent's follow-up plan.

Set up a Zap with the trigger link

Use any lead source as your Zap trigger, such as Typeform "New Entry" or Facebook Lead Ads "New Lead". Once the Zap is on, submit your own form to test it. Your phone should ring within about 20 seconds (on Zapier's free plan it can take a few minutes).

  • In Avoonta, open Settings > Connections & lead links (Lead link), turn the agent's link on and press Copy.
  • In Zapier, create a Zap with your lead source as the trigger.
  • Add Webhooks by Zapier, event POST, and paste the trigger link as the URL. Payload type: json (or form).
  • Map at least phone, and ideally first_name and email.
  • Turn the Zap on and send a test lead.

What the agent does on the call

Each agent has a name, a voice, a language, a short script and a goal. You choose whether it books on your calendar, transfers the lead to you live, or just sends you the answers. It uses only the facts you give it. If it does not know something, it says the team will follow up.

  • Booking: the agent checks your calendar for free times up to 14 days ahead, offers two or three, and books after a clear yes.
  • Calendars: Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, HighLevel, Cal.com or a custom availability link.
  • Live transfer: the agent rings one US number when the lead asks for a person, qualifies and wants to talk now, or says words you choose.
  • If nobody on your team picks up, the agent can take a message or offer the next free time on your calendar.

Follow-up when a lead doesn't answer

The agent dials with voicemail screening. It only starts talking when a real person says hello. If a voicemail machine answers, or nobody picks up, the agent hangs up, sends the text after voicemail (if on, once per lead) and schedules the next try.

  • Call up to 1, 2 or 3 calls in total, counting the first call.
  • Wait 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours (the default), Next day, or a custom gap from 5 minutes up to 7 days.
  • The plan stops when the lead answers and the call ends, or when all the calls you allowed have been made.
  • Unanswered calls and voicemail checks are free to you.

Send call results back into your Zaps

The Avoonta Zapier app includes triggers you can use to push outcomes into your other tools. Each order fires once per trigger, with the summary, answers, appointment, recording link and transcript. Leads sent through the trigger link report their results to your workspace's default webhook URL, which you can receive in Zapier.

  • Call Completed, with Agent and Outcome filters
  • Appointment Booked
  • Lead Qualified and Lead Not Qualified
  • New Order, for every new order from any source
  • Search "Find Order" to look up a recent order

Compliance on every call

  • AI disclosure. Every call, outgoing and incoming, opens with a fixed line saying the agent is an AI assistant for your business.
  • Consent. In the US, an AI agent may only call or text people who agreed to be contacted by your business. Avoonta refuses to call a lead without that agreement, and keeps proof of it with every call and text.
  • Calling hours. Avoonta only dials, retries and texts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM in the lead's own local time.
  • Do-not-call list. The list is checked before every dial, retry and text. If it cannot be read for any reason, Avoonta refuses to dial rather than guess.

Questions

How quickly does a new lead from Zapier get a call?

The AI agent calls within seconds of the lead arriving. Zapier's free plan checks every few minutes, so leads can arrive late. A paid Zapier plan is faster.

Can I test my Zap without calling real people?

Yes. In the Zapier app, a test key (av_test_) places simulated calls only: nobody is called and nothing is charged.

Will a retried Zap step call the same lead twice?

No. The app sends its own Idempotency-Key, so a retried Zap step does not call the same lead twice.

Do I pay when a lead doesn't pick up?

No. You only pay talk time once a real person answers. Voicemail and no-answer checks are always free.

Can the agent call leads in languages other than English?

Yes. Each agent speaks one language, chosen on its Basics tab, and the whole conversation is held in that language. To reach English and Spanish speakers, use two agents, one per language.
