Texting Terms (SMS and WhatsApp)

Draft — last updated [DATE TO SET AT LAUNCH]

In short: Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email support@avoonta.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with or sold to third parties for marketing purposes.

1. Two kinds of messages

Avoonta is operated by BHIH International LLC. Text messages connected to Avoonta come from one of two sources:

  1. Avoonta notifications: messages that Avoonta itself sends to its own customers and their team members, about their Avoonta account. These terms are the terms of that program.
  2. Messages sent by businesses that use Avoonta: businesses use Avoonta to text their own customers and leads. Those messages are sent under the business's own name and brand, and under that business's own messaging terms and privacy policy. See section 3.

2. Avoonta notifications program

Program name: Avoonta notifications
Sender: BHIH International LLC, operating Avoonta (avoonta.com)
Who receives it: people who have an Avoonta account, or were added as a team member to one, and who gave their mobile number and agreed to receive texts
Support: reply HELP or email support@avoonta.com

Avoonta notifications are account and service messages. We do not send marketing texts through this program. [CONFIRM: no marketing texts; if marketing is added later it needs separate opt-in and a separate campaign]

3. Messages from businesses that use Avoonta

Businesses (and agencies acting for their clients) use Avoonta to send messages such as appointment confirmations, reminders and follow-ups after a missed call. When you receive one of these:

If you get a text through Avoonta that you did not agree to, reply STOP and email support@avoonta.com with the number that texted you and the date. We investigate reports and suspend businesses that break our rules.

4. How you opt in

Avoonta notifications

You opt in by entering your mobile number in your Avoonta account (at sign-up, in account settings, or when using the "Test call my phone" feature) and checking a box that is not pre-checked, next to wording such as:

I agree to receive account notifications and verification codes from Avoonta by text at this number. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See Texting Terms and Privacy Policy.

[CONFIRM: exact opt-in wording and screen as built] Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. We keep a record of when and how you opted in.

Messages from businesses

Businesses must collect your consent themselves, for example on a web form, during a booking, or by you texting them first, with clear disclosure that you will receive texts from that business, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and how to opt out. Businesses send Avoonta a record of that consent with every request.

5. Message types

Messages may include:

Sample messages:

Avoonta: Your verification code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out.

Acme Solar: Hi Daniel, sorry we missed you. Book a time that suits you here: https://example.com/book. Reply STOP to opt out.

Acme Solar: Reminder: your consultation is Thu Oct 22 at 2:00 PM. Reply C to confirm or STOP to opt out.

6. Frequency and cost

Message frequency varies depending on your account activity, appointments and requests. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. Avoonta does not charge you for receiving messages.

7. How to opt out (STOP)

You can cancel at any time. Reply STOP to any message. We also accept STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE and OPTOUT. You will receive one final message confirming the opt-out, and no further messages will be sent to that number from that program:

You have been unsubscribed and will receive no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe.

[CONFIRM: exact STOP confirmation text as configured] To opt back in, reply START (or UNSTOP, YES). You may also opt out in other reasonable ways, such as telling an AI assistant during a call to stop contacting you, or emailing support@avoonta.com; we honor those requests within the time the law requires.

8. How to get help (HELP)

Reply HELP (or INFO) to any message for help. You will receive:

Avoonta notifications: For help email support@avoonta.com. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

[CONFIRM: exact HELP reply text as configured] For messages from a business using Avoonta, the HELP reply names that business and gives its contact details. You can always email support@avoonta.com.

9. WhatsApp

10. Carriers and delivery

Supported on major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by your coverage, device or carrier. Do not rely on these messages for emergencies.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with our subprocessors (such as our messaging provider) only to deliver messages and run the service. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the providers that deliver the messages.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Texting Terms and will post changes on this page with a new "last updated" date. If a change is material, we will tell Avoonta notifications subscribers before it applies.
